BATA offers rides regardless of race, color,
religion, gender, national origin, age or disability.
The Brookings Area Transit Authority (BATA) is a public transit program
providing transportation to people in Brookings. BATA provides access
to medical facilities, grocery stores, governmental and social service
offices
and various places throughout the community that individuals would like
to go.
BATA also meets the needs of children going to and from school, summer
recreation programs and other necessary purposes.
Fares:
2.00 per one-way ride within the city of Brookings
$4.00 out of city limits within reason and are paid upon boarding the vehicle,
unless other arrangements have been made with the office.
Riders must have correct change or a token to ride.
• Drivers do not carry change. A ride is defined as a one-way
trip for one person regardless of the number of people in a bus at
any one time.
• Suggested contribution for those age 60 and over is the same as the fares.
• Tokens are available in bags of 10 for $20.00 including one Free-ride
coupon to be used in a monthly drawing for free tokens.
